Phytomer

Since we’ve been on the subject of dry skin lately I thought I’d share with you a moisturizing mask I recently discovered. As I mentioned yesterday the horrible weather is wreaking havoc on my skin. Not only my body, but my face as well.  Normally I have oily skin and in the winter it is less oily, but this winter it’s been freaking out because it doesn’t know how to react to this weather and my obsession with hot showers. After working out one evening I stopped by the health club’s spa to see what they had for a great moisturizing mask and discovered this Phytomer Hydracontinue Relaxing Moisturizing Mask. It’s been a face-saver.

My favorite way to use it is to first exfoliate my skin so I’ve removed all the dead, dry skin and can apply this knowing nothing is blocking its way for good absorption.  I apply a generous amount all over my face and neck and leave it for 10 minutes (I usually leave on for 20 minutes) and then you can just wipe off any excess and rinse with warm water.  However, since it’s super dry, after my 20 minute allotted time there really isn’t much product left on my face so I just smooth out what is left and leave it and go to bed. When I use it my skin is baby butt soft and oh so hydrated.  Right now I use this twice a week, but when the weather changes for the better (or at least I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it will) I will probably only use it once a week. Phytomer is made with marine ingredients and are available at spas and various online stores.
